Product details

A towed anti-aircraft gun decoy covering the mount, shield, barrel cluster and sights. Because guns of this type are usually dug in or revetted, the decoy is supplied with a matching ground anchor set that holds it in position and at the correct attitude for the site.

Artillery decoys cover towed and self-propelled pieces, from howitzers and field guns to rocket artillery and anti-aircraft mounts. Barrels are internally stiffened to keep a straight line over years of repeated inflation, and breech, recoil and sighting detail is reproduced wherever it affects the silhouette.

Key features

  • Supplied singly or as a battery line
  • Barrels and mount detail reproduced
  • Rapid line layout on open ground

Deployment

  1. Lay out the battery position

Mark the gun pits and the ammunition and command vehicle positions so the layout matches real doctrine.

  2. Inflate the hulls

Unroll each gun hull on its pit outline and inflate to working pressure — about 1 minute for small guns.

  3. Fit barrels

Attach the barrel and recoil sections and set the elevation the scenario calls for.

  4. Anchor

Tension the guy lines and drive the anchors, paying attention to the barrel end where wind load is highest.

  5. Fit coating options

Apply the radar-reflective and infrared options if the position has to defeat technical reconnaissance.

  6. Recover

Remove barrels, deflate, fold and stow — several guns fit in one vehicle load.

Frequently asked questions

Questions buyers ask about the Anti-aircraft gun decoy.

Which guns and launchers can be reproduced?

Towed and self-propelled howitzers, vehicle-mounted gun-howitzers, rocket artillery such as the BM-21, and anti-aircraft guns. Barrel length, recoil assembly, mount and carriage detail are taken 1:1 from the real equipment.

How quickly can a gun position be established?

About 1 minute for the smallest towed guns, 5 to 15 minutes for the larger self-propelled and rocket systems and their support vehicles.

How big is it when packed?

The packed volume for a complete gun decoy is around 1 m³, so several decoys can be carried on one light vehicle and deployed as a battery position.

How long does it survive in the field?

The fabric is rated for more than 200 inflation cycles in extreme conditions, with field repair from the supplied patch kit.

Does it defeat radar and thermal reconnaissance?

Yes. The special coating gives an adjustable radar return and an infrared treatment matched to the equipment, so the position reads on both radar and thermal imaging.

Can a full battery be simulated?

Yes. Guns, ammunition vehicles and command vehicles can be ordered as one set with consistent camouflage and signatures, so counter-battery reconnaissance sees a complete firing position.

Can it carry a specific unit's markings?

Yes. Camouflage schemes, unit numbers, national markings and stencil text are printed to order from your references.
